Blessed to be a blessing to others
ILC will begin collecting donations for the 4th Quarter Mission October 3, 2021. G.W.O.H.s will be planning other than money collections for this time, plus we always look forward to adopting Lutheran Home of Mercy residents for Christmas and collecting food for Knights of Columbus. This year, ILC may be collecting for their own food boxes to be distributed in the area. Exciting times and events are coming! Continue reading Immanuel's Journey to keep informed!
Years ago, ILC sponsored a refugee family from Viet Nam. Please consider doing this again with a refugee family from Afghanistan.
You may email the church (email@example.com) or call the church with your thought (517.486.3151). Council will make a decision based on your response.

September 19, 2021 following the 10 AM worship service, God's Work. Our Hands will honor the 2021 Sunday of Service by holding a Walk Around Immanuel to End Alzheimer's (outdoors) and a Hotdog Roast Picnic (in-doors). Expect to have fun and fellowship! Please wear casual clothing, purple or ILC t-shirts, and walking shoes. There will be a table for donations to Alzheimer's at the picnic. Please walk and give... and share food...Together, We Can End Alzheimer's Disease.
The team ILC Walk His Way began in in 2015. God's Work. Our Hands member and Team leader Diana Schulz, organized the team and then Council President at the time, Bob Schulz, came up with the name. There were many ILC family members who had participated for years in the Lenawee Alzheimer's Walk, and to support them and Diana's mother, she put her heart into making the team a success. There were several members in the walk that year.
As people grow older and not so spry, ILC has revamped it's support this year by holding a walk of their own. The God's Work. Our Hands committee will be posting inches, miles, et cetera, as congregational members walk around Immanuel's church building. Anyone and Everyone can participate! You can walk as little or as much as you want! All we are asking you to do is wear purple, or ILC t-shirts, casual clothes, and walking shoes!
When you are finished with your walk, please join everyone in the basement of the church for the Annual Hotdog Roast Picnic. Dogs and all the condiments, plus other goodies and beverages will be served.
Before you eat, please donate to the Alzheimer's Organization. There will be God's Work. Our Hands members at a donation table as you enter the basement. You may donate cash or checks. Please make checks out to Immanuel Lutheran Church and write Alzheimer's on the memo. Then enjoy your meal and fellowship.
Meals on Wheels is a program from the Department on Aging that provides hot, balanced meals once a day through the week to area seniors and home-bound of Lenawee County. The Adrian Senior Center prepares the meals and they are loaded and taken to area senior centers for packaging and distribution. Without this program, some people may not eat...
On a rotating bases, area churches are called to provide volunteers to deliver the packages of food, but during the past few months, volunteers have been hard to find.
If you can deliver meals on one, some or all week days, please let the Senior Center know. You may call (517) 486-2397. Even one day will be helpful! You will be expected to arrive at the Senior Center (Lane St. Blissfield, down town) around 10:45 AM, pack your route's clipboard and coolers in your vehicle (you can get help with this), and run your route between 11:00 and Noon. In the winter months the time is a little later (11:30 to 12:30) due to meal delivery coming from Adrian. Once your finished with the route, come back to the center and drop off the clipboard and coolers and leave---with a smile from helping someone!
When Immanuel has a sign-up sheet for volunteers to deliver meals, put your name down! Immanuel's next sign-up for 2021: November 15-19, 2021.
What a great way to show God's love through our actions.
If you have signed up to deliver meals and the weather has turned inclement, call the center (517) 486-2397 to find out if it's open. You may also listen to area radio station 103.9 WLEN.
