With the blessings of our heavenly Father, we recognize the following people:
Jay Maher, son of Mike and the late Nora Maher, grandson of Jay and the late Vanda Fisher. Jay graduated with his Undergraduate degree from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. He plans to continue towards his Masters in Theology at Pensacola Theological Seminary this fall after he takes time off to marry his sweetheart, Chenisse Squire in July. Congratulations, Jay! Jay's favorite memories are sitting with his parents and sister, Yvonne, and his grandparents during worship service on Sunday mornings.
Graduating from Fort Walton Beach High School are the twin sons of Keith and Amanda Brusseau, Hunter and Mackenzie. They are also the grandsons of Carmen and Tom Love. Hunter's plans include coming back to Michigan and attending Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie. Mackenzie leaves directly for boot camp as he has enlisted in the army. Their favorite memory is when they visited ILC and sat in the balcony during worship.
Phoenix Aislinn Galilea Waters is our next graduate to be recognized. She has graduated Manchester High School with honors. Her future plans are to attend Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio and pursue a degree in Secondary Education. She has been awarded an athletic scholarship and is signed with the Lourdes Women's wrestling team. Phoenix has also been officially offered a position in the Lourdes Chorale directed by Betsy Bellavia. Her favorite memories from Immanuel are drinking coffee after church while talking to Russ [Fenner] about wrestling.
Emma Mehan has graduated from Adrian High School with honors. She is the daughter of Michelle Leckrone and John Mehan, and the granddaughter of Russ and Carol Fenner. He home church is having Recognition Sunday on the same Sunday as ILC. That's where she, her parents, and Russ and Carol will be. Her future plans are to attend Michigan State University and obtain a degree in education. Her fondest memories of ILC are Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and Church group camping trips in the summer. Congratulations Emma!
Added to our list of graduates were Olivia Helmer who graduated from Saline Hight School on June 6, 2021. She is the granddaughter of Lou Ann Brazee. Plus, Conner James Cerda. Conner graduated May 22, 2021 from the United States Military Academy at West Point as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army-Field Artillery. Connor is the grandson of Richard and Deb Marks.
All graduates recognized will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a small gift from their ILC congregational family. Again, congratulations to all! May God continue to guide your lives as you continue your education, seek out training, and enter into the next journey of your life.
What is the graduates' fondest memory at Immanuel Lutheran Church?
Graduation Recognition Sunday's date has yet to be determined. It will most likely be the first or second Sunday in June.
Throughout the year, God's Work. Our Hands committee arranges family outings from the Arc to the Zoo.
And several places in between.
Immanuel celebrates with a Super bowl party in the Gathering Area.
Our congregation joins together for dinners and other community activities plus summer camping!
Immanuel participates in church leagues through out the tri county area. Traveling Dart Ball League
is great fun! Euchre and other card games are periodically scheduled.
Music lessons are given free to all ages. Instruments include: guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, banjo, and more.
Bring a desire to learn and you will soon be praising the Lord.
Periodically, Immanuel provides free concerts featuring our organist,
M. Alejandro Thompson, and other church members during which donations are accepted for a special need or cause.
